Techiman, Ghana – The town of Techiman is today witnessing its first-ever Taster Day under the Get Into Employment programme, implemented by YOTA with funding from King’s Trust International. The event marks the official introduction of the programme to the region, opening doors of opportunity for young people eager to build meaningful careers.

The Get Into Employment programme is designed to support Ghanaian youth in acquiring employable skills and industry-specific training that prepare them for decent job placements. Beginning with a strong grounding in soft skills and progressing to hands-on work experience, the programme equips participants with both the confidence and technical expertise needed to succeed in the job market.

The Taster Day serves as the gateway into the programme. Today, young people aged 18 to 30 are meeting prospective employers, showcasing their potential, and vying for the chance to move forward to the next stage.

The atmosphere in Techiman is charged with excitement as participants are being introduced to the world of the Hospitality Industry. They are engaging in activities that sharpen teamwork, critical thinking, and innovation, while also asking questions and interacting directly with industry stakeholders.

Later in the day, participants will take part in one-on-one interviews with employers, who will select those eligible for the programme’s next phase: Soft Skills Training.

YOTA is proud to extend the reach of the Get Into Employment programme to Techiman and is thrilled to see the enthusiasm of the town’s young people as they embrace this unique opportunity to shape their futures.
